Safety

We approach the well-being of our campers with a holistic approach through our Wellness department. Led in our summer weeks by a licensed EMT, the Wellness department is responsible for both the physical and emotional health of each participant, providing first aid when required, distributing prescribed medications and providing emotional support for feelings of homesickness, loneliness or any other issues that might arise. The Wayfinder Experience is an outdoor adventure camp that involves night hikes and land exploration. Each group in our Adventure Game is led by an over-18 counselor equipped with a medical kit. Participants are required to wear closed-toed shoes and carry small flashlights, whistles and water bottles during the game. There is a nightly check-in process each evening and an event-based curfew that ensures each child gets the proper rest.

Each member of our community is also encouraged and guided to be aware of others and their feelings, and emotional issues between participants are often resolved organically between those individuals in conflict. Our Wellness staff is always available to provide mediation if necessary.
